Chelsea and Real Madrid target Aguero also wanted by Barcelona

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is reportedly keen on seeing Chelsea target Sergio Aguero play alongside Lionel Messi next season. Real Madrid have been linked with the 23-year-old in recent days, although coach Jose Mourinho last week dismissed reports that he had made a bid for the Atletico Madrid striker. Manchester City and Juventus are also believed to be interested in the Argentina international, who last month confirmed he wants to leave the Vicente Calderon.

But according to Marca, Spanish champions Barcelona are keen on the highly-rated forward and claim that their interest would not mean that their bid to sign Giuseppe Rossi from Villarreal would collapse. According to the report in Spain, contact has been made between Barca officials and Aguero’s agent, with the Catalans hopeful that the striker will want to remain in Spain should he quit Atletico this summer.

What would work in Barca’s favour should they look to make an official bid for Aguero is his friendship with Lionel Messi. Moreover, a move to bitter cross town rival Real Madrid would enrage not only Atletico’s passionate following but also some of his current team-mates, as Alvaro Dominguez revealed recently. But whether Guardiola could afford to bring in Aguero and Rossi remains to be seen, and a move for both players plus Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas – believed to be his number one transfer target this summer – would be almost impossible.

The three together would likely cost over £100million and although Guardiola will raise funds by offloading several fringe players this summer – as well as selling Zlatan Ibrahimovic to AC Milan – he is unlikely to have the funds required to sign all three players.
